ABOUT QUESTS
Quest Types
There are two types of quests: Regular and Godly
- Regular Quests: Can be purchased or received at random. They're easier to complete and have fewer restrictions but have more common prizes.
- God Quests: Cannot be purchased and are rare in nature. They're more difficult to complete but the loot is better. This type can only be unlocked after a set amount of posts.
- There are four tiers to the Regular Quest type. Tiers can be unlocked every twenty-five posts. They increase in difficulty as well as reward type.
Obtaining a Quest
- Quests are given out at random. You can increase or decrease your chances for a quest by praying to a deity. If blessed, you are more likely to receive God Quests from the deity. However, if you're cursed, you are less likely to receive such an opportunity.
- Quest passes can also be purchased from the shop. God Quests cannot be purchased.
- Canon characters each have unique quests available to them after a set amount of posts to unlock their special items.
Going on Quests
- When given a quest, a character will have to face down a myriad of obstacles, such as fighting monsters, solving riddles, or even scavenger hunts. Once you achieve your objective, you will be given your reward. If you fail, you will walk away empty-handed.
- The objective and location of your quest will be randomized, though the difficulty will increase with the tier. There's even a chance your character can be sent off-planet if they qualify for such an occurrence!
- When fighting a monster or other creature, the gear you have on you will affect your odds and possibly even the outcome.
- Sometimes you will be able to bring others with you while off on a mission and they will share the spoils. Each member will get their own loot, so don't worry, you are won't be losing anything by having a teammate!
- Your affiliation, abilities, blessing, curse, and even race affect your time in battle. A Wolf of Jaecar, military member, Resistance member, and mage would all fair better in a fight than an ordinary citizen due to prior specialized training. However, if your character has combat training of some form, even if not currently active, that will be taken into account!
- Mages need to be extra careful on missions, for too much power usage can cause serious trauma or even death. Be careful!
Quest Rewards
- The reward you get will depend on the mission you've completed. The lower the tier, the more common the loot. You will always get at least two items as well as money upon quest completion.
- God-Tier Quests can result in one-of-a-kind, powerful, and maybe even magical items. Some such items are: Jaecar's Fang, an incredibly powerful dagger said to be wielded by the God himself, or Mayek, the fabled Apalia of the Lost City.
- You can purchase quest-related items, such as a Quest Pass, Skip a Fight, Jump to the Final Stage, a Money Increase, +1 Companion, and a Choose-Your-Loot item. The loot must be in line with the level quest and all but the Money Increase are excluded from God Quests.
Canon Characters and Quests
- Being that Canon Characters have unique gear tailored to their person, they have unique quests to unlock them. A canon character unlocks their first piece of unique gear upon creation. Then, they most wait until the Intermediate Rank rather than the Novice to unlock their next special item.
- Certain characters, such as Cain and Xanjo, have overlapping quests and will be paired up for the final missions. However, if one of the Canon Characters is not being played, the rule can be exempt, or a staff member can temporarily play them to aid you in finishing the quest.
- Since canon characters have rare and powerful gear, their missions to unlock the gear will be tougher than usual.
- Their unique missions usually align with their history or character in general. So, not only will you be getting special items, you'll be playing out some important IC scenes along the way!
