General
- Cursing is allowed! No holds barred, don't be afraid!
- There is relatively mature and sensitive content that can appear on the site but it will be tagged as such with an [M] or [TW]. We just want people to be aware before signing up in case you are uncomfortable with such things,
- Be kind to one another! No drama is allowed on the site and if you have a problem with another player, bring it to the admins' attention and we will handle it accordingly.
- Bellicose is a one account per character site, with the addition of your OOC account. First, you MUST make your OOC account before you are allowed to begin your first character.
- We do not limit you on how many characters you can have. That being said, we don't want you to overload yourself either. Please only make as many as you can handle!
- In accordance with the above rule, each member can only have two canon characters and one mage. Mages cannot be bought, but they CAN be born onsite or adopted.
- There are never more than ten mages at a time, and each mage has a unique power, as well as a setback to keep their powers in check. During the Festival of Magic in the Year of Marika, it's possible to partake in an event and win a mage character. That is the only exception to the Ten Mage Rule.
- Mature content is allowed, however, please tag your threads accordingly. [o] for open, [c] for closed, [tw] for possibly triggering content (such as abuse/rape/etc), and [m] for mature.
- We all know how crazy real life can be and we understand that it is much more important than role play. However, please leave an away message or contact a staff member via Discord or PM.
- Everyone hates activity checks, but sadly they have to be done. We will have monthly activity checks. If you do not respond to the activity check, all of your accounts will become inactive, after a month with no word, they will be deleted.
- Before starting an IC thread, your character must be accepted and all claims filled out.
- No God-modding, power-playing or mary-sues!
Character Creation
- Register your character accounts as First Last. (i.e. Jane Doe).
- All Face Claims/Play-bys MUST be a celebrity of some fashion, but not instagram/myspace/facebook etc. Professional models, actors/actresses, musicians, and other people of fame are acceptable.
- There are two avatars for each account you make. The first one you see, the larger of the two, will be 200x350. This avatar can be directly linked in the "Personal" section of your profile when you edit it. The second, smaller avatar will be 150x150 and can be a gif! It is added when you upload/link it in the "Avatar" section of your profile when you edit it. PLEASE ONLY LINK THIS SECOND AVATAR, UPLOADING DOESN'T WORK.
- Please make sure you make all character creation related purchases BEFORE submitting your completed application.
- When you post your character application, do it in the 'In Development' subboard and title it as such: First Name Last Name - Race.
- If you wish to apply for a Canon Character, simply message one of the administrators with the completed application and you'll be responded to as soon as possible!
- Upon the acceptance of your character, you will be given a randomized Starter Package with four items inside. To earn better items, you must go on Quests. They unlock once you hit the posting ranks of 25, 50, 75, and 100 posts. For more information on quests, please read here.
- You will have one week to finish in development/WIP character applications. If you need extra time, let an admin know.
Out of Character
- Be respectful to everyone! We are a laid back place overall, but we do not take bullying or hazing to any degree! If you feel you are being bullied, please contact a staff member! This includes any hate on race, sex, religion or anything of the sort. It will not be tolerated.
- The chatbox is a privilege and we will not hesitate to block you from it if any site rules are broken. It does not have separate rules as it is a part of this site and it goes by the same rules.
- When disciplining a member, we do not treat every case the same, seeing as no instance of breaking the rules is the same. It will be treated quickly and efficiently with no favoritism. If you feel a member has broken a rule, please, let the staff know because we cannot be everywhere and catch everything.
In Character
- Bellicose welcomes everyone from every corner of role-play. From beginners to veterans. That being said, we have set a very low and easy to reach minimum word requirement of 150 words. For your convenience, we have also put in a word counter below the c-box to make sure you reach the requirement.
- While we welcome IC conflicts, they should never be forced by OOC events. If you are mad at a member, it should not affect the IC interactions and vice-versa. After all, this is just a game.
- In accordance with the above rule, please remember that your character cannot know what the other is thinking unless otherwise agreed upon. That being said, there is also no power-playing or 'insta-killing' a character without permission.
- We are a 3-2-2 site, which means all Mature threads must fade to black and be carried out elsewhere if you wish.
- There will be no WIP IC posts allowed, if you cannot finish a post, please save it to your computer until you can finish it!
- We do allow liquid time, just make sure your character isn't in two places at the same exact time.
- We're a pretty easy-going bunch here, so any slip-ups concerning the lore and such are fine. It's one reason we wanted to keep the world in touch with Earth! Reading up on the information on the planet and its ways is still useful and highly recommended to really get a grasp on things.
Advertising and Affiliation
- Advertising should only ever be done in the advertising board!
- If you advertise more than once on our site, we reserve the right to post back on yours as well.
- Please advertise in the correct section
- You must have a section for us to link back to, or we are obligated to delete your advertisement!
- We don't have a limit on how many times you may advertise on our site, all we ask us that you wait a month between advertisements.
- If your site is 18 and up, please add 18+ to the title!
- All images must be 88x31px, the exception being sister sites with 100x46px.
- In order to affiliate, you must have at least two active members in the past 24 hours, for Sister Sites, it must be 5 members.
- To become a sister site, your site must be fantasy related.
- 18+ advertisements must not have anything sexual in the advertisement itself
